Félix Kir, nominato sindaco di Digione, Francia, dal 1945 al 1967, ha dato a questo delizioso sapore le sue lettere di nobiltà. Ha reso popolare la famosa bevanda chiamata "Kir", fatta di vino bianco e creme de cassis, o liquore di ribes nero, offrendola ai ricevimenti alle delegazioni in visita.
